Mia at 6 Months!

Current stats: weight=15 lbs. 13 oz. (50%), height=27 in. (90%).

BIG NEWS: We have teeth!! Mia's bottom central incisors came in (both at the same time) just before her 6-month birthday. The journey was painful, but Mia is a happy camper once again. The unfortunate thing about teething is that Mia was just starting to sleep through the night when THROBBING PAIN showed up. Of course, now that two teeth have emerged, others are sure to follow, so Mia only gets a full-night's sleep occassionally. But at least we know it's possible ... :-)

Mia's sixth month was full of discovery and wonder. Her friends Sterling Andrews and Sierra Pike taught her how to use the bucket swing at the park. She loves to go FAST, just like the big kids! Grandma meets us at the park with the duck pond, since it's near her house. She loves to show off her little granddaughter!

Mia also loves to jump up and down and all around in her new Exersaucer, courtesy of Fairy Godmother Lisa and Uncle Marc (our next-door neighbors). Of course, she enjoys chewing on all the toys, too! She's trying really hard to roll over from her back to her tummy (she's been doing it the other way since New Year's Day), but hasn't quite made it all the way yet.

Another big thing this past month has been introducing Mia to solid foods. It's been a blast teaching her how to eat from the spoon. Food gets all over the place, but that's most of the fun! She started with rice cereal, which she loves (she smacks her lips and says mmm ... ). Daddy said all she needs is some Spam & Eggs to go with that rice. Next, we began introducing her to vegies: peas (loves 'em), squash (likes it more every day), green beans (yuck!), and zucchini (digs it) so far. Soon we'll introduce some fruit as well.

I think that's most of the latest. Oh, Daddy thinks Mia said "Mama" the other day. Mama is headed back to work, and Daddy is taking family leave to stay home with Mia for 3 months. Have I mentioned lately what a wonderful father and husband Robby is? Well, he is! :-) More tales of their adventures to come ...
