Mia had her 4-month well-baby checkup today. Current stats: 13 lbs. 8 oz. (50%); 25 in. (75%); 15" head (10-25%).
Mia is doing just great. She can now suck both thumbs, often at the same time. She enjoys standing with support, and likes to lunge forward as if she's diving. She grabs and holds objects (like her rattle), and can pass an object back and forth from one hand to the other. Mia also turns the pages in her small board books, and smiles and flirts with people.
This month was full of firsts: Traveling on an airplane, having Thanksgiving dinner (vicariously, through Mom), meeting cousin Eleanor and Auntie Carrie for the first time, and, upon return from SF, getting her first cold. :-( Her first trip to Grandpa and Tutu's house was mixed: the first couple days were a rough adjustment, and Mia was overwhelmed and cried (OK, screamed) a lot. She could only be soothed (and, thus, held) by Mommy or Daddy. But once she got used to all the people and noise and commotion, she settled down and had fun. By the time her party came around, she was able to relax and have a good time with friends and family who visited with us.
To see pics, go to Mia's PHOTO ALBUMS and select "4th Month" and "Thanksgiving 2005." Best wishes for the holidays & new year!
